Externally, a lotion made from fresh or dried marshmallow leaves makes a cleansing complexion tonic.
Used for poulticing, this liquid acts as a drawing agent. The leaves themselves, steeped in a little boiling water, placed between gauze, then wrung out to remove the water and applied to inflammation of the skin, such as boils, carbuncles and abscesses, act as a spectacular means of bringing these unpleasant excrescences to a head. Once the septic matter has been drawn out, the flesh will heal completely.
