Ghosts collectively perceived by humans and animals

August 8, 1892. - Around 1874, when I was only 18 years old, I was in my father's house, and one summer morning, I got up around 5 a.m. to light the fire and prepare tea. A large bull terrier dog, who used to accompany me everywhere, was next to me while I was taking care of the fire.

At some point, I heard him growl and I saw him looking in the direction of the door. I turned to this side and, to my great terror, I saw a tall and dark human figure whose flaming eyes were moving towards me. I sounded an alarm and fell back to the ground. My father and brothers immediately ran over, believing that thieves had entered the house.

I told them what I had seen; they felt that the vision had had no other source than my troubled imagination following a recent illness. But why then would the dog have perceived something too?

The dog in question sometimes saw things that were invisible to me, he would throw himself against them by making the gesture of biting in the air, then he would look at me in a certain way, as if he wanted to say to me:

Didn't you see? -

Mr. H. F. F. S.
