Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

In the example below, the witnesses describe movements of non-contact objects that occurred in a haunted house, while the dog appears to have known the intelligent but invisible character who was the perpetrator of the action.

A description of the experience

A probable case of clairvoyance - Psychisché Studien de novembre 1905

As quoted in Gabriel Delanne's - Materials for use in the study of REINCARNATION

About a haunted house in Versailles.  In a letter to Dr. Darieux, Mr. H. de V. states that:

"After about ten minutes, as the servant was telling us about her troubles, an old wheelchair, placed in a corner on the left, moved, and, taking a broken line, came between Mr. Sherwood and me, then turned around about a meter behind us, hit the floor two or three times with its feet from behind and came back in a straight line to its corner.

This was in broad daylight and we were able to make sure that there was no competition or anything of any kind. The same chair resumed its course three times, taking care, strangely enough, not to hit anyone. At the same time, violent blows were heard in the other corner of the neighbouring room, which was open, large and perfectly deserted. The friend who had led us to the room pushed his dog towards the corner of the room; the animal came back screaming, obviously in deep terror. He was forced to take him in his master's arms as long as we stayed in the house.
