Background

A description of the experience

Croiset the Clairvoyant - Jack Harrison Pollack

The importance of guarding against incorrect theft accusations is illustrated in the case of the mayor of a western Holland town who in November 1950 telephoned Croiset to ask, "Can you tell me anything about a burglary recently committed here?” As the mayor talked, a man's image forced itself upon the paragnost. Croiset described this man in minute detail, even though he never explicitly charged that he was the burglar. Immediately recognizing the man Croiset was describing as a prominent local citizen, the mayor protested, "But he couldn't possibly have had anything to do with the house-breaking."

"The mayor had quarreled with this prominent citizen only a few hours earlier," explains Dr. Tenhaeff. "So we can understand that this was an example of telepathy, where the mayor had unconsciously contributed to the paragnost's erroneous impression and interpretation."
