Common steps and sub-activities
Reducing opportunities - finding a replacement
The aim here is to use your understanding of why something has become an obsession to replace it with something that is equivalent but not an obsession.
You can use the list of harmless pleasures to help you do this if they are satisfactory substitutes, but you may find you need to rethink in a slightly more major way.
It must match the obsession in what it provides whilst being a pleasure that has none of the disadvantages. Make sure you don’t choose something that only ends up being another obsession.
