Read challenging books

Or watch TV programmes with which you may not agree.  Many people read only books that they think they will agree with or are ‘safe’ because they don’t challenge what they know.

Well do the opposite. 

It may get you very very annoyed.  Being challenged does.  If you have built your house on a specific foundation and consider it the bedrock of your life, it can be very very frightening to remove the foundations.

But you are trying to build a new house, not patch up the old, so the foundations have to go too.  You may find you can salvage something from the ruins, but better to start with the view that the destruction might leave you with nothing worth saving.
