Common steps and sub-activities
Looking at bright single tone light
You can stare at a single bright light of unchanging tone and hue. By doing this you are achieving partial sensory deprivation. The effectiveness of this technique is known from more sinister applications, when it has been used to so dull someone’s mind that they confess during torture, but where you are in control, or with a trusted helper, the chance of you spilling the beans and confessing all, is perhaps more remote and on the whole nothing to worry about!
At low levels and for short periods this technique can lead to positive spiritual experiences – healing etc, but at prolonged and intensive levels, it can lead to hallucinations.
