Agrimony tea - The Healing power of herbs – Ceres Esplan

Agrimony (Agrimonia eupatoria), Church steeples, Tea plant, Lemonade, Furr-burr, Catch-as-catch-can, Little Cocklebur.  This wildflower is found in Britain, Europe and the United States.  It grows in hedgerows, along woodland edges and on wasteland, with its yellow flowers towering up in a thin spire.

The whole herb is useful fresh or dried as a tea maker.  It can be drunk before meals, by the wineglassful, after having been infused in the usual way; a teaspoonful of dry, crumbled herb with 1 pint of boiling water poured over it.

It is good for those who need a tonic or a helpful blood purifier.  It is also now said to have antibiotic properties.  Never, though, expect the action of herbs like Agrimony to show dramatic results.
