Patterns of Prophecy – Alan Vaughan
In a dream I had October 23, 1969 I was trying to brush off a persistent book salesman.
"When I looked at one book, I was delighted, however. It dated from the 1880s, and the covers were coming off. It was very thick and part of it seemed to be a directory of some sort, listing names. It was a rare book on psychic phenomena, but the man selling it wanted too much: $30.00. I was trying to get his price down."
I commented that
"this may be partially precognitive of my coming across an old, valuable book in psychical research."
The very next day I was invited to visit a friend's apartment that I had never been to before. Many books lined the walls. Recalling my dream, I decided to browse among the books to see if any matched the dream description.
I discovered a thick, century-old book that had a chapter on clairvoyants in New York. There was also a directory-like part that listed women's belongings of that period. I copied out the chapter on clairvoyants and sold it to Psychic magazine for somewhat more than the $30.00 of my dream. Happily, instead of paying out the money I was receiving it.
