Background
The Spaniards called this the Nunnery, which is somewhat ironic as the building's decoration shows that this was a place for descent through the levels to the underworld and hell. Cells lined the quadrangle and they could easily have been used to provide sensory deprivation and isolation, as well as to provoke the necessary fear.
It appears that Lord Chac knew almost as many as Dante.
