Onam (Malayalam: ഓണം) is a festival celebrated in Kerala, India. It is also the state festival of Kerala with State holidays on 4 days starting from Onam Eve (Uthradom) to the 3rd Onam Day.

The entire sequence of this is an allegory of the spiritual path - the person is ascending first round the levels and layers of the Egg and then finds the 'mountain' at the centre of the Egg to ascend there
