A description of the experience

Wikipedia

………Fay Marvin Clark was once seated at his desk when he became aware of a beautiful high-pitched note filling the room. It was quite similar to the tone one sometimes hears from a fluorescent light tube when it is not functioning properly, although this tone was far more interesting and appealing.

Clark wrote: “I turned off the light, and the sound continued. The sound appeared to be coming from the direction of two large stones (pieces of chrysocolla, to be precise) that were on a shelf behind me. I approached them and stood and listened in awe to the beautiful sound filling the room.

“Finally, moistening a finger, I touched one piece of chrysocolla and the tone continued. I again moistened my finger and gently touched the other piece. A mild electric shock moved up my arm and the singing stopped.

“At that time, I had readily accepted the idea that stones do … give off vibrations, but it was asking almost too much for me to accept the audible singing ability of the chrysocola.
