Background
“il Nobilissimo Giuoco delle Minchiate Fiorentine” a Tarot from around the 15th century shows not a tower, but a naked woman being expelled from a Tower with flames above.
This card thus uses different symbolism to that of the other Tower cards, although the symbolism is not totally at odds.
The figure is in effect Eve being expelled from the Garden of Eden - Paradise. Eve symbolically partook of the Tree of Knowledge - in effect a concept identical to that of the Tower - the acquisition of knowledge and memory.
And thus by acquiring Memory and knowledge she 'fell from grace' was denied permanent spiritual input. So the symbolism is different but the message is similar - rely on knowledge and cleverness and you fall from grace!
