Background

A description of the experience

Professor Ernesto Bozzano - The parapsychological manifestations of animals - 130 cases proving animal mediumistic abilities

Case 69. - (Visual.) - This case can be found in the Proceedings of the S.P.R., vol. V, p. 156. Mrs. E. L. Kearney reports:

January 17, 1892,

My grandfather was sick. One evening I was walking down an inside staircase of our apartment when I saw a strange cat in the corridor walking towards me. As soon as it saw me, it ran to hide behind a door that divided the corridor into two parts. This door was arranged in such a way that it always remained open.

I ran immediately behind it to chase the strange animal away, but I was extremely surprised not to see anything. It was not possible for me to find anything in the rest of the apartment. I immediately told my mother about this. She told me a few days ago that she remembered the incident perfectly. My grandfather died the next day.

This seems all the more interesting if we consider it in connection with another circumstance. My mother told me that the day before her father died, she had also noticed a cat walking around the patient's bed. She had, like me, hastened to chase it away, and she had not found anything either.
