A description of the experience

Canned Heat - Mean old world

Canned Heat: Uncanned! Released by EMI Records in 1994 was a compilation album of songs on which Alan Wilson had sung or which were his compositions but which had not, at that stage, been released.  On this 2CD Alan played Harmonica, Vocals, Bottleneck, Piano, Flute, and Tambura. Tracks include:

  • the alternate release of “On The Road Again”
  • “Mean Old World”
  • “Fannie May”
  • “Nine Below Zero” and
  • “TV Mama”

As it says ‘Alan’s harp playing is simply unparalleled as far as technique, vibratto and control’ on these songs.
