Background
A description of the experience
And thou, O Earth,
Who movest in music, like a harper's hand,
White among gleamy chords, thine elements,
Stringed fourfold, laud Him with all sounds of joy;
With joy august and dread, great mother world,
Whose veins within, the fire Promethean stolen
Truly of heaven, and Him, who planned the plains
Ætherial, streams from unbeginning time
To time unending; cease not, earth, His praise,
Who in Himself imbreasts both thee and heaven.
