Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

The following person received an intravenous narcotic in the emergency room for a severe headache, then drove home!

A description of the experience

Dr Michael Sabom – Recollections of death

Now, nobody warned me about this thing, but as I looked down the road, the perspective of the road wasn’t narrowing as it gradually disappeared.

The road went on and on and on.  And it didn’t follow the natural curves of the earth.  And I could see little details way down there.  I could tell you whether it was an ash or an elm tree 350 yards down the road.  I could tell you from the shape of the leaf.  I could see that good.

I could look at this bedspread here [in hospital during interview] and you can see that it has little stitches and apertures between the stitches.  I could look and tell you every fibre of the cloth that was woven together.  I could see every one individually.  I could look at your shirt from over here and I could see every aperture, every pore in your shirt.  I could see it.
