One of the prisoners in a concentration camp in Hong Kong in the last war has left on record that in his extremely weak undernourished state he would sometimes rise from his sitting position and walk forward, only to discover, on looking back, that his body was still seated.
The extreme weakness presumably facilitated involuntary astral projection [out of body experience]. It is noteworthy that many of the records of spontaneous astral projection are associated with weakness of body due to illness or exhaustion as well as sudden shock
