The Jacques Romano Story – Dr Berthold Eric Schwartz
In these early years Jacques thought of "devils, ghosts, and spirits walking at me. I used to dream of the Orient. I wanted to see spirits. One night when I was about seven, I awakened in my room and thought I saw a tall Oriental man with a turban. I watched him hold his chin in his hand. He came closer and closer and then disappeared under the bed. I carefully crawled under the bed and looked for him, without awakening my brother, but there was nothing to be seen. It was a phantom vision. Because of my desire I had had a wish-fulfillment hallucination.
The dream was so vivid that it persisted for a short while even though my eyes were open and I became wider awake."
