Background

A description of the experience

Albert De Rochas D'Aiglun - Levitation of the human body

Dr Henri Goudard studied, in the Annals of Psychological Sciences (year 1895), the case of a young American woman, Miss Abbott, who came to Paris in 1892 to give performances. She could make herself heavy or light at will and communicate this property to others. Thus she lifted from the ground, taking a pulpit with five people grouped together in such a way as not to touch the ground, between her two open hands, without pressure.

This young girl was very small and weighed, in her normal state, 45 kilos. When she wanted to do her exercises, she stood still for a moment; the gaze fixed in space; suddenly a flash seemed to pass through her eyes, a barely noticeable jolt agitated her body and she entered a kind of trance where she remained in touch with the surrounding environment.
