Type of Spiritual Experience
Background
In many of the other descriptions within the general category of extreme emotion, the emotion generating the experience is negative. But it is also possible to provoke a spiritual experience via intense and overwhelming happiness and euphoria.
Memory often seems to be a weak substitute for the actual moment itself, thus any form of spiritual experience is more likely to come at the time the happiness was felt – at the time the event that caused all this happiness occurred.
In the example here it was the happiness felt from playing music, an activity I have classified under the more general heading of Listening to music so that it can include both players and listeners
A description of the experience
The following Radio 4 programme recorded on Thursday 21 March 2013 at 7.15 contains an interview with Nigel Kennedy in which he not only describes what he's doing now, but also describes an out of body experience. The interview is about 10 to 15 minutes into the programme. You need to be patient I’m afraid and wait for the interview as the recording is of the entire programme not just his interview. Hopefully at some stage some enterprising person will put this clip onto youtube

The whole interview is fascinating but the out of body experience was profound - he left the concert hall! The experience was mostly achieved via a form of euphoric happiness when all the things that needed to come together had come together – 'band' as he puts it, atmosphere, concert hall, audience etc and he felt inspired 'the music was playing me'
