Symbols - What does heaven look like

The source of smoke - spirit output - and symbolically connected to the chimney - the route by which thoughts travel upwards - the perceptions as they rise through vibrational layers.

Thus a fireplace is symbolically the source of thoughts, which loosely speaking is the mind.  Fireplaces also link with the whole concept of the castle or house being representative of us as a whole.

There is another meaning.  If sexual techniques are being used to obtain kundalini type experiences, the 'smoke' is the energy rising and the fireplace becomes the female tunnel, so to speak.  Or as my Uncle once said when I complained about looking a bit plain, 'No one looks at the mantelpiece when they're poking the fire'.  Which was indeed very heartening.
