Symbols - What does heaven look like
Blackbird

A blackbird takes on the symbolism of the bird.
Much of the rest of the symbolism is derived from its song. The blackbird has one of the most beautiful voices of any of the songbirds. Possibly only the nightingale surpasses it in song. The functions of heaven can be heard as music and the programs can be heard as songs - songlines - beautiful melodies, harmonic and often haunting.
Thus the songbird, the blackbird, nightingale and so on can symbolically work spells, make magic, create programs, change the way things are. They are the magicians of the spirit world and they can be living souls.
They can heal, inspire, and change functions to help a person learn and grow.
Blackbirds tend to sing at Night and early morning - Dawn, thus they are especially connected to the spiritual path. In this context the fact they are Black is related to their Intellect, Black being symbolically a symbol of Intellect, thus they are in some senses close to the Hermit in role.
Blackbird singing in the dead of night – Beatles
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these sunken eyes and learn to see
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to be free
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night
Blackbird fly, blackbird fly
Into the light of the dark black night
Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly
All your life
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
You were only waiting for this moment to arise
