In some symbol systems, the tripod represents the Trinity.
It can also, however, if it has a round 'solar' top represent the spiritual path, in that it can be the time from sunset, through midnight to dawn - to make a little more sense of this symbolism see the Four seasons and the hours.
You do therefore need to know the context to know the meaning, occasionally other symbols will be used to help, such as bowls or cups or fire.
There is a third meaning if a thing has three legs. It becomes a sexual symbol meaning whatever it is, is charged with sexual energy and thus very potent spiritually.
