Crystal slippers
Crystal shoes and slippers combine the symbolism of Crystal and the feet and shoes.
It is sort of double symbolism, as the very idea of a shoe is that it represents the body, however, the added symbolism of the crystal does add weight to the idea that the Higher spirit is trying to find a body that suits her. Crystal is also a more appealing image than leather! It hints at a more beautiful body – one that matches the template a bit better.
From Cinderella
The Prince, who was now deeply in love with Cinderella, picked up the slipper and said to his ministers, “Go and search everywhere for the girl whose foot this slipper fits. I will never be content until I find her!”
So the ministers tried the slipper on the foot of every girl in the land until only Cinderella was left.
‘Cinderella wasn’t at the ball’ snapped the stepmother. . Tell the Prince he ought to marry one of my two daughters!’. But, to everyone’ s amazement, the crystal slipper fitted perfectly.
