Rauvolfia serpentina, or Indian snakeroot or sarpagandha, is a species of flowering plant in the family Apocynaceae.
It is native to the Indian Subcontinent and East Asia (from India to Indonesia).
Common English names include : Devil-pepper, and Snake-root.
