Suppression
Carnosol
Category: Natural chemicals
Type
Voluntary
Introduction and description
Carnosol is a naturally occurring phytopolyphenol and a diterpene.
It is found in a number of plants [see the observation] and functions as an antioxidant [notably Nitric oxide] and an anticarcinogen.
These results suggest that carnosol suppresses the NO production and iNOS gene expression by inhibiting NF-kappaB activation, and provide possible mechanisms for its anti-inflammatory and chemopreventive action PMID: 12082020
