Some science behind the scenes
Ixodicide
"Ixodicides" are substances that kill ticks.
Ticks belong to the arachnid subclass Acari, and the name Acaricides is sometimes used as a more general term for a pesticide that kills members of this family which includes ticks and mites. The term "arachnicide" is also occasionally used to refer to agents that target arachnids as a whole.
