Introduction and description

I have provided one section that deals with one specific cancer - leukemia, and one extra section on multiple myeloma as there are complications in both these cancers that deserve extra discussion.
This section covers all other named cancers and is also a sort of catch all section which enables me to cover observations where the type of cancer was not specified.
Some of these observations were made a hundred years or so ago and thus the type of cancer was rarely specified as it was incurable and could not be treated. Most of the observations are also of people who died, however, they are by no means upsetting, many are extremely uplifting.
Cancer known medically as a malignant neoplasm, is a broad group of various diseases, all involving unregulated cell growth.
In cancer, cells divide and grow uncontrollably, forming malignant tumors, and invade nearby parts of the body. The cancer may also spread to more distant parts of the body through the lymphatic system or bloodstream. Not all tumors are cancerous. Benign tumors do not grow uncontrollably, do not invade neighboring tissues, and do not spread throughout the body.
There are over 200 different known cancers that afflict humans.
While cancer can affect people of all ages, and a few types of cancer are more common in children, the risk of developing cancer generally increases with age. In 2007, cancer caused about 13% of all human deaths worldwide (7.9 million).
Causes
In the end the causes are all environmental and include:

Viruses
Viruses are an established cause of cancer. Viruses accepted to cause human cancers include some genotypes of human papillomavirus, hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, Epstein-Barr virus, Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus and human T-lymphotropic virus. The most recently discovered human cancer virus is a polyomavirus (Merkel cell polyomavirus) that causes most cases of a rare form of skin cancer called Merkel cell carcinoma. Some examples include:
- Adrenal tumor is associated with BK virus and simian virus
- Anal cancer is associated with human papillomaviruses.
- Brain tumor. Glioblastoma multiforme is associated with cytomegalovirus, BK virus, JC virus, and simian virus
- Breast cancer is associated with mouse mammary tumor virus, Epstein-Barr virus, and human papillomaviruses.
- Carcinoid tumors are associated with enterovirus infections.
- Cervical cancer can be caused by human papillomaviruses. There is also some evidence with links to CMV, so we should not be complacent about the vaccines now being produced for this disease which only target HPV
- Colorectal cancer is associated with human papillomaviruses and the JC virus may be a risk factor for colorectal cancer.
- Hodgkin's lymphoma is associated with Epstein-Barr virus, hepatitis C virus, and HIV.
- Kaposi's Sarcoma can be caused by Kaposi's sarcoma herpesvirus and HIV.
- Liver cancer. Hepatocellular carcinoma can be caused by hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus.
- Lung cancer is associated with with human papillomaviruses, and with Merkel cell polyomavirus.
- Leukemia. Adult T-cell leukemia can be caused by human T-cell leukemia virus-1.
-
Mesothelioma is associated with simian virus especially in conjunction with asbestos exposure.
- Nasopharyngeal carcinoma can be caused by Epstein-Barr virus
- Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is associated with HIV and simian virus
- Oropharyngeal cancer can be caused by human papillomaviruses.
- Ovarian cancer is associated with mumps virus.
- Pancreatic cancer is associated with hepatitis B virus
- Prostate cancer is associated with xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus and BK virus.
- Penis cancers - are associated with human papillomaviruses
- Skin neoplasm is associated with human papillomaviruses.
- Squamous cell carcinoma is associated with human papillomaviruses.
- Thyroid cancer is associated with simian virus
Vaccines
Many cancers may be caused by a virus. When we vaccinate someone we give them a dose of a virus in the hope they will build up immunity. Where the vaccine used in the injection is a live virus, there are instances where it, although apparently vanquished by the immune system, lays low and continues to attack, albeit at a much reduced rate. One example is the herpes virus, read on:
Herpes simplex viruses types 1 and 2 (HSV-1 and HSV-2) are human neurotropic viruses that establish latent infection in dorsal root ganglia (DRG) for the entire life of the host. From the DRG they can reactivate to cause human morbidity and mortality. Although they vary, in part, in the clinical disorders they cause, and in their molecular structure, they share several features that govern the biology of their infection of the human nervous system. The biology of their ability to establish latency, maintain it for the entire life of the host, reactivate, and cause primary and recurrent disease is being studied in animal models and in humans. PMID: 24142852
This is not the only virus to do this, thus any vaccine containing a live virus carries great risk with it. ...
The zoster vaccine (trade name Zostavax) is a live vaccine developed by Merck & Co. …... The zoster vaccine is, essentially, a larger-than-normal dose of the chickenpox vaccine (Varivax, Varilrix), as both shingles and chickenpox are caused by the same virus, the varicella zoster virus (VZV).

The name for a vaccine that has a live virus in it is an attenuated vaccine.
Although most attenuated vaccines are viral, some are bacterial in nature. Examples include the viral diseases yellow fever, measles, rubella, and mumps, and the bacterial disease typhoid.
The live Mycobacterium tuberculosis vaccine contains a virulently modified strain called "BCG" used to elicit an immune response to the vaccine. The live attenuated vaccine-containing strain Yersinia pestis EV is used for plague immunization.
Flu vaccines are available either as
- TIV, QIV (injection of trivalent or quadrivalent, killed vaccine)
- LAIV, Q/LAIV (nasal spray of live attenuated influenza vaccine)
Class 1: Double Stranded DNA Viruses must enter the host nucleus before it is able to replicate. Some of these viruses require host cell polymerases to replicate their genome, while others, such as adenoviruses or herpes viruses, encode their own replication factors. In either case, replication of the viral genome is highly dependent on a cellular state permissive to DNA replication and, thus, on the cell cycle.
In times of low immunity and high stress levels, the virus may induce the cell to forcefully undergo cell division, which may lead to transformation of the cell and, ultimately, cancer. An example of a family within this classification is the Adenoviridae.
An analysis of the stopped STEP trial, published in Proceedings in the National Academy of Sciences, provides a warning that ‘vectors’ are employed in some vaccine development, and are used to distribute inactive virus strains, the vectors being used in some vaccines are adenoviruses.
So let me recap. Viruses are known to cause cancer. In some vaccines we inject or give a person a nasal spray of a live virus or virus which is dead but has a vector virus with latency. Even if the immune system manages to vanquish the live virus, some [if not all we do not know] viruses remain in the body waiting for the immune system to become compromised. The things that compromise the immune system are shown in this section.
In some ways development of vaccines is putting the cart way before the horse and it is a runaway cart liable to do untold damage. We do not know the entirety of diseases or illnesses caused by viruses or bacteria, nor do we know precisely whether each one is eradicated by the immune system or simply lies low. To give anyone a live virus when this information is not known, carries enormous risk - and one of the risks may be that a child or an adult develops cancer.
Given all the viruses implicated in the development of cancer, this may already have happened - on quite a large scale.
One way of ascertaining your level of risk is to test for food or other allergies. This may sound odd, but this is yet another by-product of vaccines. The excipient in many vaccines produces allergies, as such if you have an allergy you may well be at risk, and it is worth checking whether the vaccine you were given contained a live virus.
Bacterial infection

A number of bacteria have associations with cancer; so far the links are in some cases possible, whilst in other cases they are proven. This is a new area of research, as such one would expect the number to grow as it has done for viruses. Examples of links include.
- Salmonella typhi - is associated with gallbladder cancer.
- Streptococcus bovis - is associated with colorectal cancer.
- Chlamydia pneumoniae - is associated with lung cancer.
- Mycoplasma - may have a role in the formation of a number of types of cancer.
- Helicobacter pylori - has been linked with certainty to stomach cancer, as well as pancreatic cancer, colorectal cancer and may be related to MALT lymphoma
- Porphyromonas gingivalis - a pathogen for periodontal disease, may also play a role in pancreatic cancer [ PMID: 23843038]
- Fusobacterium nucleatum – is associated with colorectal cancer
Parasites

Again the list is long and growing. The following is representative not complete, as the number of parasites [as you will see from the site entry] is enormous:
- Bladder cancer can be caused by Schistosoma helminths
- Colorectal cancer is associated the helminth Schistosoma japonicum
- Liver cancer. Hepatocellular carcinoma can be caused by the helminth Schistosoma japonicum, the roundworm Ascaris lumbricoides, the Echinococcosis tapeworm, and Leishmania - a genus of trypanosomatic protozoa
- Intestinal cancer – can be caused by the roundworm Ascaris lumbricoides and the single cell organisms Blastocystis, Dientamoeba fragilis and Giardia lamblia
- Lung cancer – can be caused by the roundworm Ascaris lumbricoides, the Echinococcosis tapeworm, Strongyloides stercoralis and Toxoplasma gondii
- Cancer of the spleen – can be caused by the roundworm Ascaris lumbricoides, the Echinococcosis tapeworm, and Leishmania - a genus of trypanosomatic protozoa
- Pancreatic cancer - can be caused by the roundworm Ascaris lumbricoides
- Gallbladder cancer - can be caused by the roundworm Ascaris lumbricoides
- Brain tumours – can be caused by the Echinococcosis tapeworm, Toxoplasma gondii, Schistosoma and Trypanosoma brucei
- Cancer of the kidneys – can be caused by the Echinococcosis tapeworm
Toxoplasmosis is a parasitic disease caused by the protozoan Toxoplasma gondii [see the list above]. The parasite infects most genera of warm-blooded animals, including humans, but the primary host is the felid (cat) family - see Being with cats.
Another serious carrier of parasites is the fox which spreads Echinococcosis. In countries where dogs and cats are not wormed and their faeces safely disposed of, domestic dogs and cats can also be a problem. This parasite can also cause brain damage and blindness.
Mineral imbalance

In general appears to be linked to cancer, principally because it affects all the organs of the body and makes then more susceptible to disease; by being weakened and damaged they are more open to attack. But mineral imbalance affecting the immune system is a particular risk, thus zinc deficiency and any imbalance in a mineral that affects the amount of zinc we have is a real danger. For example there are studies which imply that overdosing on iron or having too much iron can result in cancer:
"Many studies indicate that animals and humans burdened with excess iron are at increased risk of neoplasia at various sites. This review focuses on inquiries that involve iron and colorectal cancer. Relevant studies reported in the past decade are briefly described and evaluated. The studies in animal models and in relatively large groups of humans point to a positive association of excessive iron with colorectal oncogenesis. PMID: 8043985"
eHealthme - On Sep, 12, 2014: 4,577 people who have iron overload are studied. Among them, 137 (2.99%) have Malignant Neoplasm Progression.
There is one mineral which appears to have produced certain sorts of cancers. In studies where there is no bias of the researchers - in other words they are not sponsored by the government whose aim is to dose everyone with fluoride, or the water companies who are paid to put fluoride in water, there does appear to be clear cut research that fluroide imbalance created via the addition of fluroide to water supplies or the giving of fluoide tablets has produced cancer.

For example
The Okinawa Islands located in the southern-most part of Japan were under U.S. administration from 1945 to 1972. During that time, fluoride was added to the drinking water supplies in most regions. The relationship between fluoride concentration in drinking water and uterine cancer mortality rate was studied in 20 municipalities of Okinawa and the data were analyzed using correlation and multivariate statistics. The main findings were as follows.
(1) A significant positive correlation was found between fluoride concentration in drinking water and uterine cancer mortality in 20 municipalities (r = 0.626, p < 0.005).
(2) Even after adjusting for the potential confounding variables, such as tap water diffusion rate, primary industry population ratio, income gap, stillbirth rate, divorce rate, this association was considerably significant.
(3) Furthermore, the time trends in the uterine cancer mortality rate appear to be related to changes in water fluoridation practices.
- PMID: 9002384
It may be helpful to look at the section on cystic fibrosis as there is a positive correlation between fluoride and cystic fibrosis too.
Vitamin imbalance
Does not appear to directly cause cancer, but by weakening the organs of the body it lays them open to damage by the other pathogens in this list. By being weakened and damaged they are more open to attack. Vitamin imbalance affecting the immune system is a particular risk.
There appears to be little appreciation that overdosing on vitamins is as dangerous as being short of them. Vitamin supplements represent an overdose of vitamins, given that we usually have more than enough if we eat properly. In the elderly and in children, whose size and weight is so much less, overdose is all too easy. The eHealthme site has a number of cancers linked to vitamins - meaning supplements, for example
Source: eHealthme: On Sep, 8, 2014: 38,361 people reported to have side effects when taking Vitamins. Among them, 306 people (0.80%) have Breast Cancer.
Heavy metal toxicity or poisoning
Heavy metal poisoning can result in damaged or reduced mental and central nervous function, lower energy levels, and damage to blood composition. It can over time destroy the lungs, kidneys, liver, stomach, heart, pancreas, skin, eyes, and other vital organs. And it causes cancer.
Lead poisoning , cadmium poisoning and mercury poisoning appear to be more dangerous, simply because both are toxins in the body and very little is needed before they do damage. Although the dangers of lead in petrol is known, the hazards of mercury and cadmium seem to be little appreciated. Dental amalgam fillings pose a risk as do tattoos for example. It remains a mystery why dentists continue to use amalgam considering the known risks of brain tumours and skin cancer - and this is just to them, let alone their patients - and breast cancer of their dental assistants that has been proven:

This review assesses the epidemiological literature describing dentist mortality and cancer incidence risk. In the dental workplace a variety of hazards may have been historically present or currently exist which can impact dentists' long-term health, including their mortality and cancer incidence. The epidemiological literature of dentistry's health outcomes was reviewed with a focus on all cancers combined and cancers of the brain, lung, reproductive organs and skin. Relevant studies were identified using MEDLINE and NIOSHTIC through early 2006 and from references cited in the articles obtained from these databases. ..... several studies reported an increased risk for certain cancers, such as those of the skin..., the brain and female breast. ..... Future studies of dentists would benefit from the assessment of specific occupational exposures rather than relying on job title alone. PMID: 17259166

Radiation
All radiation whether 'cosmic' or electromagnetic impacts our bodies and depending on its frequency it resonates different parts of us. The reason that nuclear radiation is so dangerous is that it impacts cells, but what we appear to have overlooked is that all radiation impacts some part of us.
Every aggregate in our bodies - organs, cells, the body itself, has natural ‘resonance’. Resonance is a substance’s natural tendency to oscillate – vibrate – at maximum amplitude at certain frequencies, known as the thing’s resonant frequency.
Long exposure to radiation or short exposure at high intensity shakes the organ until it damages it and the result is organ damage and over time cancer - depending on the frequency, different cancers may result. Thus certain frequencies are known to cause leukemia, whereas yet other frequencies cause brain tumours.
Note that the links between certain types of cancers and the various forms of radiation are proven and the connection has been known for some time. This is but one paper amongst many....
Use of electricity causes extremely low frequency magnetic fields (ELF-MF) and wireless communication devices emit radiofrequency electromagnetic fields (RF-EMF). Average ELF-MF exposure is mainly determined by high voltage power lines and transformers at home or at the workplace, whereas RF-EMF exposure is mainly caused by devices operating close to the body (mainly mobile and cordless phones). ... The IARC classified ELF-MF and RF-EMF as possible carcinogenic. Most consistent epidemiological evidence was found for an association between ELF-MF and childhood leukaemia. If causal, 1 - 4 percent of all childhood leukaemia cases could be attributed to ELF-MF. Epidemiological research provided some indications for an association between ELF-MF and Alzheimer's diseases as well as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis,..... Regarding mobile phones and brain tumours, some studies observed an increased risk after heavy or long term use. PMID: 24297859
There is a link between leukemia, for example, and the radiation from overhead power lines and transformers. The extra sections shown below provide more details:
Toxins
By definition, toxins are toxic! All toxins are implicated in cancer, however, pesticides, insecticides and so on are particularly implicated, as agricultural workers are exposed all the time and our foods are often liberally dosed with them, unless we go organic.

Organochlorine (OC) insecticides have been regulated as possible human carcinogens primarily on the basis of animal studies. .... We investigated the relationship between cancer incidence and OC insecticide use among pesticide applicators enrolled in the Agricultural Health Study, a prospective cohort study of 57,311 licensed applicators in Iowa and North Carolina enrolled between 1993 and 1997. Information on use of 7 OC insecticides (aldrin, chlordane, DDT, dieldrin, heptachlor, lindane, toxaphene) was collected from a self-administered questionnaire at enrollment. Lifetime exposure-days to OC insecticides were calculated using additional data from a take-home questionnaire completed by 25,291 participants (44% of total). .....When we focused on individual insecticides and structurally similar groups (aldrin and dieldrin; chlordane and heptachlor), significantly increased relative risks of some cancers were observed for use of some chemicals (rectal cancer and chlordane, lung cancer and dieldrin, non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) and lindane, melanoma and toxaphene, leukemia and chlordane/heptachlor). Some significant decreased relative risks were also observed (colon cancer and aldrin; overall cancer and heptachlor). .... some observed associations (lindane and NHL, chlordane/heptachlor and leukemia) are supported by previous evidence. PMID: 17096337
Fungal infections

Fungal infections are an overlooked source of cancer. They more often cause very unpleasant diseases, but if left untreated those diseases can progress to cancer, examples include:
- Aspergillus - cause respiratory diseases and are linked to cancer
- Blastomyces dermatitidis - is the causal agent of blastomycosis, a subtle pneumonia-like infection that may causes lesion to form throughout the body, most notably the skin, internal organs, central nervous system and bone marrow.
- Candida - is a genus of yeasts. When mucosal barriers are disrupted or the immune system is compromised they can invade the entire body and can lead to cancer.
- Fusarium is a large genus of fungi some of which produce mycotoxins in cereal crops that can affect human health if they enter the food chain. In humans whose immune systems are compromised, aggressive infections can penetrate the entire body and bloodstream.
- Histoplasma is a genus of dimorphic fungi that affects the lungs and occasionally, other organs.
- Scedosporium prolificans is a fungal pathogen that causes a wide variety of infections in immunocompetent and immunosuppressed people.
Note that it only takes one ill advised use of an antihistamine or the unwise use of antibiotics when they are not needed to compromise the immune system - see Immune system compromise.
Pharmaceuticals
There is a growing list of pharmaceuticals whose side effects are cancer. The number of types of cancer listed as symptoms on the eHealthme site is extremely long and it makes no sense for me to list them all with the links. If you follow this LINK it takes you to the index where you can look up the pharmaceuticals implicated in each type of cancer.
Just some of the many types of pharmaceuticals that are implicated in causing cancer are as follows, note that this is not anecdotal evidence, it is derived from Adverse Drug reports submitted to the FDA and SEDA. Please note that the list is not complete, there are many more, but this is just to give you some idea:
- Diabetes treatments – such as Glyburide
- Thyroid disease drugs – such as Levothyroxine
- Psorias treatments – such as Neoral
- Chemotherapy drugs – such as Tamoxifen
- Anti-depressants – like Zoloft
- Cholesterol lowering drugs - like Zetia
- Obesity treatments - like Xenical
- Anaemia drugs - such as Erythropoietin
- Antibiotics - principally because they destroy the Intestinal flora and thus allow pathogens to enter the body
If we take a drug like statins. They are implicated in a whole host of different tpes of cancer - the following list comes from eHealthme

Smoke inhalation
Known and understood for some time, it causes lung cancer, however, smoke is just another toxin and we may find that other forms of toxins from the air are far more dangerous.
Nanoparticles
There is one truly nasty toxin which appears to be particularly key to genetic damage - the nanoparticle - invented by scientists and being released into the environment by scientists in the belief that they do no harm, except that yet other researchers have realised they do a lot of harm......
....DNA damage occurs chemically or physically by nanomaterials. Chemical and physical damage are associated with point mutation by free radicals and double strand brake, respectively. The failure of DNA repair and accumulation of mutations might occur when inflammation is prolonged, and finally normal cells could become malignant. These free radicals can not only damage cells but also induce signaling molecules containing immunoreaction. Nanoparticles and asbestos also induce the production of free radicals. .... Taken together,... a variety of diseases [may be] induced by nanomaterials. PMID: 25097864

The use of nanoparticles is not regulated and although we may think we are not exposed, they are starting to be used in a whole host of products without any indication that they are present.
Where they are used in cosmetics and suncreams, we possibly risk skin cancer from their use.
Treatment
There are two main approaches used to treat cancer:
Symptom based approach
These days cancer is usually treated with chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery. The chances of surviving the disease vary greatly by the type and location of the cancer and the extent of disease at the start of treatment.
Cause based approach
FIND THE CAUSE AND ADDRESS THE CAUSE. This approach is based on the principle embodied in Healing yourself. But perhaps in this more than for most other illnesses, great effort is currently being expended in the research groups on using food as medicine. Here is a quote from one researcher
Cancer is one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and understanding the factors that contribute to cancer development may facilitate the development of strategies for cancer prevention and control. Cancer development involves genetic and epigenetic alterations. Genetic marks are permanent, whereas epigenetic marks are dynamic, .. epigenetics provides a link between the environment, diet, and cancer development. ... Nutrients either contribute directly to cancer prevention or support the repair of genomic and epigenomic damage caused by exposure to cancer-causing agents such as toxins, free radicals, radiation, and infectious agents. Nutritional epigenomics provides an opportunity for cancer prevention because selected nutrients have the potential to reverse cancer-associated epigenetic marks in different tumor types. A number of natural foods and their bioactive components have been shown to have methylation-inhibitory and deacetylation-inhibitory properties. ...Natural foods and bioactive food components have characteristics and functions that are similar to epigenetic inhibitors and therefore have potential in cancer control and prevention. PMID: 23676683
As this appears to be such an important area of research I have added as many observations as I can, from Pubmed, to this section that link various kinds of foods with beneficial results in healing and prevention of cancer. You may find the section Eating for Health to be helpful.
The key, however, is to find the cause. And the key is for everyone to avoid the causes too.
How it works
You need to have the Model of the Mind open and have read How spiritual experience works.
The proliferation or death of cells is regarded by our bodies, quite understandably as a threat. Where cell destruction is taking place and the body itself is at risk, the cells send out a message to the Will via the nervous system which says HELP HELP HELP THREAT THREAT THREAT we are being attacked we are dying DO SOMETHING.
The Will responds by mobilising its defence systems – immune system, the system of the kidneys and liver which act as filters, the stomach with the acid, the blood filtering system and so on. But if these have been compromised or damaged, the defence systems may be overwhelmed and the messages keep on coming in.
HELP, HELP, HELP, THREAT, THREAT, THREAT, we are being attacked, we are dying DO SOMETHING.
The Will can do no more from a defensive point of view, but it is able to release messages which help to ease the pain and this it sometimes does. Thus we get endorphins, for example, being released, which give pain relief and the Will starts to shut down functions we no longer have need of because the energy is better targeted to survival.
At this point we might start to get hallucinations as the non essential functions of Memory and Learning are gradually shut down.
But if the overdose is severe and the messages continue HELP, HELP, HELP, THREAT, THREAT, THREAT, we are being attacked, we are dying DO SOMETHING. the Will takes some very drastic action and mobilises all its energy and defenses into the autonomic system.
Now comes some serious activity when we can go out of body, because the Reasoning system Memory and Learning system have all been shut down and we are in effect on automatic pilot – we have gone AWOL.
Unless the autonomic systems can handle the threat, from this point on we are dying.
Death is thus the termination of the biological functions that sustain a living organism and death by cancer can produce some very profound experiences, simply because function elimination is so very complete.
At the stage where death is inevitable what is going on is a form of controlled shut down of practically all the functions of the mind.
The function of the ‘will’ continues to manage the autonomic systems, but consciousness may be transferred from the Personality to the Higher spirit. The person is actually perceiving as the spirit from that point on.
The perception function and the perceptions go with the Higher Spirit, but all functions relating to the body are gradually shut down in a controlled way by the Will. The last function to be extinguished is the will itself and the will does not extinguish itself until metaphorically speaking the cord has been cut – the person has crossed the bridge or the stream or whatever is metaphorically shown as the divide between life and death.
Once the cord has been cut, the function of will shuts itself off. And you die.
As the perceptions go with the Higher Spirit, the Spirit takes over the process that was formerly the will, the software that controls 'seeing' and 'hearing' have no need to go with the composer because within the spiritual world perception is pure perception unfettered by the software needed to process the input from the 5 senses.
Human emotions stay behind and cease, but the divine emotions suddenly become apparent to the person – they experience – perhaps for the first time what divine love is.
Memory stays with the body and dies. All nervous sensation software/function stays with the body and dies. Reasoning dies, learning dies.
The adapted model is shown below. You are now an angel.
