Background
I cannot work out from this whether he has possessed someone again or wherher his is perception recall.
He tells it as though he is directing action, which indicates possession, but from the way in which he describes other experiences, he was apt to change the way they were experienced afterwards to suit what he wanted o believe - and what he wanted to believe was that he had found his feminine side.
My overall feeling is that this was probably possession caused by his wishing so hard to be feminine.
I'm afraid I became very unsympathetic to Professor Whiteman after a while, on seeing what he did and how little he appeared to understand of what he was doing and the effects he could be creating by the fervour he had for 'finding the feminine'. He became almost dangerous.
A description of the experience
The Mystical Life – J H M Whiteman
(July 1939) Awareness …..began with the sight of a tree, about twenty feet away, in a pleasant natural scene. I moved a little nearer, so that the tree was on my left. The freshness of the air and the joy of being in a smaller …. form again made me start dancing, with movements exhilarating in their freedom and spontaneously expressing the love and gratitude at the heart. Still affected with the joy in nature, I lay down on the ground, vividly feeling the cool grass with my fingers and the firmness of the earth beneath.
I began to be afraid of the mounting excitement, that it would pass beyond my control, and decided to stand up again. As I did so, I noticed vividly how different it was, getting up off the ground…., from what it would have been in my physical body, on account of the great differences in bodily form, the smaller height, and the proportionately wider hips. In spite of this being, as it were, a strange discovery, the movement was completely natural to me, and wonderfully satisfying in its ease and grace.
The memory-impression of what the contrasting movements of my physical body would have been, on the other hand, seemed only an outer illusory and provisional covering to the reality I was experiencing. But I could not sustain that contemplation and the heart-stirring joy any further; and seeming to return to the bedroom, I noticed light streaming in from the window (in a duplicate state), while conscious at the same time that my physical eyes were still closed. After a few moments, the return was completed.
