Mr. Neiburg, of Oakland, Nebraska, United States, sends the following account of the incident, dated August 28, 1921:

Lately, a divine music, probably played by celestial executors, coming from who knows where, music that only resounded in the room where it was played and in which the body of the young daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Parker, from Woodlake, was lying, filled with astonishment and even fear the relatives and friends gathered for the sad funeral ceremony.

Mr. Parker is a cashier at the Woodlake State Urban Bank. Not only the parents of the deceased, but also the bankers Ben Mickey and Michael Flammingan, as well as many others who attended the funeral - one of the most solemn in Cherry County - listened in amazement to this celestial music, which resounded at the beginning of the final funeral ceremony, continuing for some time.

Once the ceremony was over, everyone wanted to find out where these wonderful chords came from, but in vain. As a result, their origin was not earthly.

The duration of the manifestation was approximately that of an ordinary instrumental piece; it did not exceed five minutes. The first very harmonious chords were perceived only by the parents of the deceased girl, who assumed that an organist was in the next room. Little by little, the chords increased in sonority and power, transforming themselves into musical waves full of feeling, which invaded the whole sacred place, with well-defined rhythms and themes. Then they slowly weakened and seemed to fade into a distant echo.

It was only when the funeral service was over - that is, a few minutes later - that the assistants realized that the invisible artist did not exist anywhere, neither in the church, nor around it...
