The road
Against my will and much against my heart
We two, my lover and my friend, must part
Our solace is, the road ahead lies clear
And does not lead to loneliness and tears
But turns around upon itself again
And leads back to from where we two both came
Full circle, so that every time our feet
Start walking there, we know again we’ll meet
It may be days, it may be weeks (the worst)
It may be other things (like children) may come first
But every time we part and walk away
We know we’ll meet again some happy day
