Sunday Times of Madras February 1936

In the presence of Col Harty, Civil surgeon of Ahmedabad and several other doctors, a Yogi named Swami Vidyalankar performed a strange feat of controlling his heart and pulse for a pretty long time.  He suddenly stopped his heart and pulse, while squatting on the floor with eyes closed.  During the period his heart was auscultated and an electrocardiogram was taken.  The tests showed that he had complete control over these organs.
