The Jacques Romano Story – Dr Berthold Eric Schwartz
Once at the turn of the century, when traveling for Eastman Kodak, Romano was to take a boat to Kingston, Jamaica, to meet a customer. However, at the last moment he had a presentiment and therefore missed the boat.
"When I arrived, I found out that there had been an earthquake and the man I was supposed to visit had been pinned under the beams. They had freed him by amputating his arm."
On another occasion Romano was ready to embark on a boat to Venezuela. This time he had a strange feeling that he should leave the boat immediately and return to his hotel room. He did, and found a telegram from his company warning him not to go to Venezuela as originally planned because of a smallpox epidemic. He just managed to unload all his belongings from the boat before it sailed.
