On another occasion Romano ". . . had to take a train to Charlottesville, Virginia, but shortly before the train was scheduled to leave, I felt noise (synaesthesia) and saw a trestle burning. I did not take the train, but returned to the hotel. Later, I learned that the bridge [at the time the train passed over it] had burned down and many people had been killed.
