Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

There are a number of verses in the Qu’ran that offer support for the concept of reincarnation.  The following are examples.  For those who have little concept of the idea of the spirit, the belief appears to be that somehow the body, as they see it, is brought back to life, but the esoteric meaning is related to the spirit and the clue is in the verse related to the alternation of night and day – we go round and round and round again, sometimes we have a body, sometimes we don’t

A description of the experience

Surah Al-Baqara, 28

How can ye reject the faith in Allah.- seeing that ye were without life, and He gave you life; then will He cause you to die, and will again bring you to life; and again to Him will ye return. (Surah Al-Baqara, 28)

Alternative translation

How can you disbelieve in Allah when you were lifeless and He brought you to life; then He will cause you to die, then He will bring you [back] to life, and then to Him you will be returned.

Surah Al-Hajj, 66

It is He Who gave you life, will cause you to die, and will again give you life: Truly man is a most ungrateful creature! (Surah Al-Hajj, 66)

Surah Ash-Shuara

"Who will cause me to die, and then to life (again); (Surah Ash-Shuara, 81)

Surah Al-Jathiyya, 5

And in the alternation of Night and Day, and the fact that Allah sends down Sustenance from the sky, and revives therewith the earth after its death, and in the change of the winds,- are Signs for those that are wise. (Surah Al-Jathiyya, 5)

Surah Al-Ahqaf, 33

See they not that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and never wearied with their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yea, verily He has power over all things. (Surah Al-Ahqaf, 33)

Surah Qaf, 3

"What! When we die and become dust, (shall we live again?) That is a (sort of) return far (from our understanding)." (Surah Qaf, 3)

Surah Ghafir, 11

They will say: "Our Lord! twice hast Thou made us without life, and twice hast Thou given us Life! Now have we recognised our sins: Is there any way out (of this)?" (Surah Ghafir, 11)
