A description of the experience
Poems of Nazir
Each blossom, leaf, branch and fruit in the world
Has its own place and function to perform
Reins and spurs are used by the invisible Lord
So, quietly and patiently bear the grief which visits thee
Being a fakir, do not seek relationship with any here
Alone and in tranquillity suffer whatever comes, unmoved
Do not awaken the sleeping beauties
Leave thy silken robe and ornaments, discard thy turban
Do not expect to be remembered after death, do not seek love while living
Being a fakir, do not seek relationship with any here
Alone and in tranquillity suffer whatever comes, unmoved
The earth and sky are not thine, thou hast no home
The body and mind do not belong to thee
Except the One for whose sake thou hast become a fakir
Thou hast no friend, no companion, no trusted fellow traveller
Being a fakir, do not seek relationship with any here
Alone and in tranquillity suffer whatever comes, unmoved
