Case No. 7 - Mrs. Emma Powell

Mrs. Powell's case was sent to me on tape by her grandson, Mr. Louis Nelson, who had described her experience to me. On the tape, received November, 1968, Mrs. Powell stated:

I had an out-of-the-body experience in 1926 in November.

My daughter was a baby, I had been ill but was out of bed and doing pretty well. But this night, I lay down to go to sleep and I left my body and went straight up, very slowly, but-all the time I could hear music and the higher I got the louder the music became. lt was the most beautiful- music I have ever heard. But I could hear my baby crying and it seemed like she was a way, way off, and I asked the Lord to let me come back, she needed me

And instantly I was back in my body, and then I could feel my mother and father's hands working with me and saying that I was cold and that they could hardly find a pulse I knew I had been close to Heaven or another world.

I wrote to Mrs. Powell and, in response to my questions, she stated that the music appeared to emanate from a point above her. The occurrence happened at 8:30 p.m. She established the fact that she had no formal knowledge of the phenomenon by writing, "I had other experiences before the above-mentioned experience, but had never heard of psychic phenomena."
