Type of Spiritual Experience

Background

In many religions – the Hindu religion being one, but there are numerous others in agreement  – the main objective of the supreme intelligence is 'creation ' in order that more power in the form of increase in function, is achieved.  In some cases the actual act of creation is delegated to other deities.

As a fundamental part of creation, sometimes things have to be destroyed to make way for the new.  As such there will be events that affect people to make them unhappy – but these events in these religions aren't 'evil' – they just are – part of the process of creation itself.  The Hindu religion has a personification – a god – for both creation as well as destruction.

A description of the experience

Mircea Eliade – Patterns in Comparative religion

All the sky gods are creators; they make the world, gods, living beings.  Fecundity is only one element in their essential vocation as creators.

'The holy sky is drunk with penetrating the body of Earth' says Aeschylus in one of his lost tragedies the Danaiads.

That is why the sky gods of the Indo Mediterranean religions are all in one way or another identified with bulls
