Florence Marryat – The Spirit World
All mediums who are fully entranced, will tell you they have been carried through water. This corroborates the old heathenish idea of the river Styx, over which the dead were ferried by Charon. In the Bible we find various allusions to the same thing. 'When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee ; the deep floods shall not overwhelm thee."
"Florence" has told me that she always looks at me through clear water, and that, sometimes, I seem such a long way off to her, when, in reality, I am quite near. She has said :
" You seem to me as if you were at the bottom of a well."
