The Art of Dying – Drs Peter and Elizabeth Fenwick
Many of the accounts we have been given are from healthcare professionals who have wide experience in caring for the dying.
Kate Dornan, a social worker who worked for 20 years in the field of palliative care in two hospices in Belfast, told us of the very many patients she had seen who seemed to be talking to, reaching out to, or simply smiling at something or someone no one else could see, and of families who had told her of a dying relative talking to or seeing people who are already dead.
