Niels Bohr put his finger on a very real difficulty which faces the experient who tries to be articulate: that the part of the self which is, so to speak, in focus during an ESP-type experience is not the part which later tries to analyse it.
Consciousness switches from one type of vision to another, and this means that even within the experient subsequent thought about his experience is nearly always from the outside.
