Background

from the Hearing Voices network.

A fascinating entry.  We usually hear voices and communicate when a bridge has been formed, but what here is the bridge?  It may be something she has eaten or is wearing - something 'foreign'.

If the communication is in words and sentences it is a bodied or disembodied soul.  If the communication is symbolic, or uses words as puns, or is simply a ‘thought’ without words – an impression conveyed, communication is with a Spirit being , Spirit helper or Intelligence.

I have put 'being a child' as an activity because she says she has heard them for as long as she can remember, so she had the gift and never lost it.

A description of the experience

Hearing voices she can't understand

Postby MamaBelle » Thu Aug 22, 2013 7:26 am

Hi, I have so many questions. I have heard voices as long as I can remember. I have almost never spoken to anyone about it but I think my voices might be unusual.

For one thing, I usually can't understand what they are saying. It's often as I'm falling asleep, but sometimes when I am very tired and should be going to sleep but I have to stay up for some reason.

In those cases the voices get more urgent and loud. Sometimes I do understand them but I usually can't remember later. Usually it sounds like a group of people pleasantly chatting just a bit too far away to really make out what they are saying.

Much less often I have heard a clear voice tell me to do something when I am wide awake. So far it's never been dangerous or hurtful to others.

Do any of you have any thoughts about this?
Also, I am in my 50s.

I have often wondered how common this is and if it means there is something wrong with me. I have done some reading, but I haven't really done the research I should have. I have been afraid to mention this to a Dr. I feel like I get along in life ok and I don't want start anything I don't want to deal with. Know what I mean?
