Rosa Mystica
Rose mystique, au doux parfum solliciteur
Fleur d’ironique amour, de fol espoir sans trêves
Illusion splendide, épanouie aux grève
Que doré et transfigure un idéal menteur
Moi ta dupe? – Eh bien, soit … Pourvu que ta senteur
Evoque en moi l’extase enlacante des reves
Si bien qu’inattentif au vol des heures breves
Je savoure la vie en lent degustateur
Qu’importe le Réel? – Divaguer a ses charmes
Ma candeur attendrie aura de douces larmes
Pour l’etre inerte au mal comme inerte au Plaisir;
Et, les yeux clos, flairant la fleur cabalistique,
Je saurai m’absorber et ma fonder, a loisir
Dans le charme imposteur de mon Reve mystique

Mystical Rose, sweet scent solicitor
Flower of ironic love, of mad uninterrupted hope
Splendid Illusion, blooming without interruption
Which gilds and transfigures even a perfect liar
Are you tricking me? – So be it ... Let only your scent
Evoke in me the brilliant ecstasy of dreams
So good that unaware of the flight of brief hours
I savour the taste of the slow life
What matter Reality? - Wandering has its charms
My soft sincerity will become soft tears
For inaction is as bad as being inert with Pleasure;
And, eyes closed, smelling the cabalistic flower,
I shall absorb myself and melt, at leisure
In the charming imposter of my mystic dream
