Case 49. - ( Visual-auditory.) - Under the title: Real Appearances of my wife after her death (Chemnitz, 1804), Dr. Woetzel published a book that produced a lot of impression in his time. He tells how one evening, a few weeks after his wife's death, as he was in his room, he suddenly felt a swirling wind around him, even though the doors and windows were closed. The light had gone out, while a door panel of the alcove had opened. In the dim light of the room, Woetzel had seen the shape of his wife, who had told him in a weak voice: Charles, I am immortal, we will meet again. The apparition repeated itself another time and, in this last case, Dr. Woetzel's dog had circled around the place where the apparition was, happily wagging its tail.
