Mircea Eliade – Patterns in Comparative religion

The Mundas of Bengal put the sun, Sing-Bonga, first in the pantheon.  He is a gentle god and does not interfere in men's affairs, yet he is not totally absent from the cult.  He is offered sacrifices of white he-goats, or white cocks, and in August when the rice harvest is gathered, he is offered the first fruits.  He is married to the moon, and seen as the author of creation...

The Khond tribes of the province of Orissa adore as their supreme creator god Bura Pennu – 'god of light' – or Bela Pennu 'god of the sun'.....

The sun is also the Supreme Being of another Munda tribe, the Oraon, who call him Dharmesh.

The Korkus of India declare that they are descended from the union of the Sun and the Moon.
