Gerard Croiset became aware of his extrasensory abilities when he was very young. As a child of six he had already realized that he was "different." One male teacher called him a "crazy little fool" because Gerard insisted, "I can see what is happening many kilometers away."
Yet this teacher was startled after being absent one day when Gerard welcomed him back saying, "I know, sir, why you didn't come to school yesterday to give us our Iessons. You went to see a young blond woman who was wearing a dress with a red rose. You are going to marry her." Oddly enough, the teacher had been granted a day's leave of absence by the principal to visit a nearby city to ask for the hand of his future bride, and she had, indeed, received him with a red rose pinned to her dress.
