The Bridge over the River
Now I have said farewell forever to my old garment. The pain made my spirit tremble for a moment, but then I was free. Now I am relieved, and my earthly shell has also begun its eternal sleep, which will end with its dissolution.
You have helped me to lead the body to its final rest at last, you have taken the strength of self-sustenance from it, you have destroyed its desire for survival. I had to make the test today because the time had come when I had to separate myself from it forever; there I recognized your help.-I believe you have no idea how much you have done.
I was allowed to bless my body, because it was ready for disintegration.
