Telekinesis related to death event
6-th case. - In this example, which I extract from the report of Professor Alexander, …. (Light, 1898, page 443), the telesonic phenomenon is complicated, since it is realized twice and in different days, after the death event. Mr. Alexander says:
On 9 May 1887, around noon, a Brazilian personality died in San Paulo: Dr. Albert Braudâo. His son-in-law, Mr. Gœthe Netto, a well-known writer and novelist in Brazil, received news of his death the next day, but did not tell his wife about it, because she was sick and bedridden. However, she had had some sort of telepathic announcement of the event, since, at noon on the same day, she heard an inexplicable noise, as if a handful of sand had been thrown forcefully against the floor of the room.
The next day, at about 9:30 in the evening, while Mr. Cleanto was upstairs talking with his wife and a friend, a loud noise was heard in one of the bedrooms across the hall on the ground floor. Mr. Cleanto ran immediately and found that a large, heavy portrait of Dr. Brandâo, hanging on the wall of the room, had come off and fell on a wooden chair.
At about 11 o' clock in the evening, another oil painting fell in the living room, taking with it a third painting hanging above him and breaking some trinkets placed on a console. The cord on which the painting was hung was intact; the nail that supported it was in its place.
Dr. Brandâo had died in very difficult material conditions and had expressed a strong desire that his son-in-law take with him two daughters still to be married who remained with him. When Mr. Netto decided to take them in as a family, the paranormal manifestations of different kinds that occurred in his house, with the fall of the paintings, stopped immediately...
*****************************************
This case is analogous to another one that I reported in chapter IV of my book on "Les Phénomènes de Hantise" (The Phenomena of Haunting) and where we see very violent phenomena happening with a man who had refused to accept the guardianship of the children of one of his parents. The latter having died, the tumultuous demonstrations in this case began immediately and lasted until the owner of the house, impressed, decided to accept the burden from which he had initially sought to escape. Similarly, in the above case, the paranormal phenomena ceased when Mr. Netto decided to grant the wishes of the deceased by welcoming the two young girls into his home.
