The Artistic Alchemy of Joseph Beuys – Dr David Adams
Following Steiner's revelations, Beuys identified the resurrected Christ in modern times as "a divine human energy" continually present in the natural world and in the higher ego of the human being, as seen with the "inner eye," , a highly developed form of human possibilities, especially in relation to his future development." Beuys could also relate this understanding to his work with substances and art as a universal creativity, referring to "the etheric element of the substance, which is generated through Christ himself and through Man himself who is probably in the position to perform what is called creativity."
